White Pelican

If you are flying in and don’t have a lot of space for bringing items, this place has everything you’ll need. From bikes and kayaks to bird and shell identification books. There’s also tools to look for sharks teeth down at the beech. We were a little worried that this place was not on the beach and how that would affect our access. It was a very short walk, there’s a cart in the house with everything you’ll need for the day plus a cooler for anything cold you’d want to take. All of this and the place was spotless after the horrific hurricanes that ravaged the area in 2024.

We loved it and we are planning next years visit already! Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful place. Cozy and clean! Loved all the amenities! Perfect for my sister & I for our getaway. Kayaked in the bay & seen so many birds! Hated to leave, had so much more exploring to do! This is the perfect spot! Thank you for the wine!!

The space is great, the bikes, the kayaks, the all of it. But what really sets it apart were the special surprises when we arrived. Snacks, coffee and the like show that Jen cares, and wants you to enjoy your time. Thanks for making Juli and I feel like we just arrived at an old friend’s place and they hooked us up! PS: the water is 4 minute walk and the bar is 5 minute bike ride.

The White Pelican is an adorable cottage with tons of amenities. We loved having access to bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, towels and other gear. Inside it was cozy and comfy and perfect for a mother-daughter getaway. We’d love to come back. Highly recommend!

We use vacation rentals often for years and this was one of the best by far. The amazing attention to detail on all amenities made this an absolutely amazing stay!

The rental was perfect for our family. Spotlessly clean and ideally located. The hosts thought of all the small details and everything was as advertised. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend this spot for any family looking for a Florida escape.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shorebirds. The unit had everything you need for the beach including beach chairs, a big umbrella, and lots of towels. The "fully loaded" beach cart was a nice touch, and we appreciated the cold drinks in the fridge! Kayaks and paddle boards are provided, and you can launch them in the bay to watch the dolphins. There are a number of dining and bar options in the neighborhood within walking distance. Don't hesitate to book this place!

This place was an absolute charm. The outside grounds are beautiful and the unit we stayed in was spotless and perfect. We were even welcomed with a treat basket and a bottle of wine when we arrived. Jen was available any time I had a question prior to checking in and during our stay. The town is still being rebuilt from the storms however, we enjoyed the beach and rode around on bikes that Jen provided. They also had stand up paddle boards, kayaks, fire pits with seating area and outdoor showers that we used daily! Would definitely recommend this place.

There is a free golf cart shuttle that takes you up the road to the bar/ restaurant for the live music. The beach is right around the corner. The bikes were so fun to take out!
It’s such a peaceful quiet town and beach. It’s a hidden gem! Can’t wait to return.

It’s all about the details! Everything you could possible needed has been preplanned for you! Right down to the usb and usc charging ports in the outlets! The kitchen was well stocked even with some extra seasonings! Different coffee and tea options. Ziploc bags!!! It was refreshing to find a cottage that had so many wonderful amenities listed and so many thoughtful touches. We had an amazing time exploring manasota key! We will definitely be back.

The cottage and property had everything and more. Our hosts put much thought into what would make for a most enjoyable vacation. Bikes, Kayaks, outdoor shower, beach gear, and more! Inside, we were given more than expected to make our stay a comfortable one. One of the best airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed in. We would love to come back.

Absolutely loved our stay at the White Pelican. The home and property was pristine. Enjoyed the firepit and a bike ride around the key. Was a short drive to a grocery store, public beaches, and lighthouses. The private beach was lovely to walk on. Extremely peaceful area. Would highly recommend!

Great stay for a quick beach trip! The unit is very well-kept and, they have a little bit of everything you could need. All you really have to do is show up! The beach cart was very nice to have for the quick walk over to the beach. We got a lot of use out of the beach equipment - which was nice to have because we flew into town. We didn't get a chance to try out the kayaks, but we figured we'd save those for next time!

We had a wonderful stay at the White Pelican. Jen was a very accommodating host. She has done a fantastic job of creating a beach vacation experience at Shorebirds Cottages. The White Pelican was clean, had a well stocked kitchen for cleaning, and all the amenities were in excellent condition. Do yourself a favor and book this place. You will be so happy you did.

I can’t describe how wonderful our stay was here. It was so clean, so bright and welcoming, the grounds were so lovely and we were so close to stump pass which meant full days hunting for shark teeth (we found over 800 in 4 days!). Will definitely be coming back!

Our family had a great time at the rental. Although much of the area is still under repair from the hurricanes last year all of the businesses were open and our rental was excellent. We had a couple small issues and the property owners were quick to respond and provide superb service. We will be staying there again in the future. Thank you!!

This location was great! The condo was very clean and new. We loved being able to take the bikes to go eat and use the beach chairs for the short walk over to the beach. They also have kayaks and when we went out the dolphins swam next to us! This place is great! And we will be back!

My family and I had a great time. Perfect place to enjoy the beach and then peace and quiet at night. Bikes were great for back and forth to the beach and kayaks allowed us to get up close with the dolphins. Clean, accomodating, and exactly es described.

Jen's place was the perfect beach cottage on Manasota Key! The unit had just been remodeled and everything was pristine. The amenities offered were excellent as well, they had everything needed for a beach vacation so you don't have to worry about bringing anything.

Location was also great. Easy walk to the beach. Restaurants were a little further but my 5 year old managed without complaints!

I stayed here previously with some friends and absolutely loved it. I took my family there this time around and they loved it just as much! Great place to stay and walking distance to the beach!

This was the perfect place to spend the last two days of our Florida vacation. Very clean, had everything we could need, and all of the beach items were great. A quick walk to the beach and very quiet at night. We would love to stay here again in the future! The bottle of wine and cold beers in the fridge were the cherry on top after a day of travel!

Single mom traveling with two teenage girls. Needless to say, I wanted a safe place that was really close to the beach. This place was perfect in every way. Jen and Eddie have thought of Everything! There were even snacks and cold drinks to revive the weary traveling teens. Another family stayed in the adjacent unit, but we did not hear them at all. Nighttime was so peaceful. There were super fancy beach chairs and an umbrella that did not blow away or flip inside out - already packed into a beach cart! The bicycles were adorable and fun. Bring a backpack so you can haul your souvenirs back from the surf shop on the bike. I could go on and on. This place is amazing and we had a wonderful time!

We had a wonderful stay in Englewood. The unit is very clean, bright and cheery. It is stocked with everything you need for a fun vacation. Jen went above and beyond with a few surprises upon check in that were a very nice touch and made us feel welcome. We met our neighbors and had fun kayaking and paddle boarding on Lemon Bay. The beach is also a quick walk. Everyone is town was very friendly and welcoming as well. I highly recommend staying here and would not hesitate to stay again if I’m ever back in Englewood!

Had a fantastic trip and our stay at Jen’s place helped make it a great weekend! Property was clean and great convenient location to local restaurants and beaches. The amenities on the property (especially use of the bikes) made for an easy way to get around. Would love to stay here again! Jen was very easy to communicate with and helpful also!

Everything was absolutely gorgeous! It was so close to the beach and cute restaurants! The water is gorgeous and we got to see dolphins as well! This is the perfect place to vacation with your significant other! Thank you for everything!

If this place is available, look no further! Updated and adorable, clean and so comfortable! We were there in May 2022 and it was quiet, even with another family next door. The air was on, ready for us. The sheets were soft and already on the bed! TVs in both bedrooms and the living space. The photos really do not do this place justice. Walking distance to the beaches and a gear-stroller is ready to go! There are coolers here, so you don’t need to bring even a collapsible one. Beach towels, too. Not one complaint. I don’t think you’ll have one either, but if you do, the owners are super responsive. This place is so stinkin’ cute!
