The Oystercatcher is your cozy nest on Manasota Key! Part of the Shorebirds Beach Cottages property, this two bedroom/one bath cottage features a large private wrap-around porch, open shelving and shiplap creating a cozy place for your beach getaway.
The Oystercatcher offers a king bed, a queen bed, both with luxurious linens and comfy mattress, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa is located in the living room. The large kitchen has all you need to create delicious meals from local fresh fish and farmer's markets. This newly renovated cottage is just a 3 minute walk to the Gulf waters and shell strewn beach. Explore the key on one of the on-site bicycles or venture out on a SUP or Kayak. A ten minute walk and you arrive at the gem of the Key, Stump Pass State Park with it's pristine, undeveloped beach and wildlife preserve. Relax in our tropical backyard oasis by one of our wood or gas burning fire pits. BBQ grills, laundry, outdoor showers, and everything you need for the beach is provided. Pack your bags and head to your nest, the Oystercatcher.
This cottage is the rear unit of a very quiet duplex shared by our other unit the Piping Plover. Our property has a second building for a total of four units. Building two has the White Pelican and the Laughing Gull. Maximum capacity is 6 people including children.
The property has been beautifully updated in 2020-2021 featuring a newly renovated kitchen, bathroom, new furnishings, and luxury details. Each cottage is two bedroom, one bath. A thoughtfully appointed kitchen, dining table, living room with queen-sized sleeper sofa, one king bedroom, and one queen bedroom are among the comforts offered. Savor your morning beverage or evening cocktail on your private wrap-around screened-in lanai or enjoy our backyard tropical oasis featuring gas and wood burning fire pits. The unit offers other conveniences such as: contactless, private entry, microwave, range, Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator. Free Wi-Fi. A cable connected 55” Smart TV in the living room and 40” TV’s in each bedroom to view shows using your favorite streaming apps. Other shared amenities include an on-site laundry, bbq grill area, and kayaks for your use.
We provide beach carts, chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, everything you need to get the most out of your day at the beach, just a short 3 minute walk. Grab one of our turquoise bicycles (adult-sized) to explore the pristine, secluded beach of Stump Pass State Park, only 3/10ths of a mile away (a leisurely 10 minute walk), where the sunsets are fantastic. Paddle around Lemon Bay in one of our kayaks, tandem or single, or a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) offered with your stay. Spend the day fishing or hiking the park’s trails or just soak in the sun on this undeveloped beach, known for bird and turtle nesting. For a real treat, keep an eye out for dolphins, manatees and other wildlife while you’re there! Conveniently close are our island restaurants, ready to satisfy your culinary cravings. Take our island shuttle so that you can dance the night away to live music at some of our neighborhood establishments. Manasota Key has conveniently located boat and jet ski rentals, and parasailing as well.
This is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not allow inside cottages, nor on porches or in any outdoor space on the property. Smokers must take a stroll off property at or beyond the sidewalk to smoke.

Cancellation Policy
Travelers who cancel at least 60 days prior to check-in will be refunded 100% of rental amount paid. If reservation is cancelled 30 days prior to arrival, 50% of the rental amount paid will be refunded. Cancellations within 30 days prior to check-in will not be refunded. Early departure does not warrant any type of refund.
Deposit Policy
For reservations of one week or more, if the reservation is 60 days or more before the rental commences, an initial payment of 50% of the total rental fee is due at booking. Sixty days prior, an additional 25% will be due, with a final payment due 30 days prior to check-in.
If a reservation is made less than 45 days prior to check-in or the reservation is less than a full week in duration, the full rental amount must be paid at the time of booking.
Any reservation made 10 or fewer days prior to rental commencement, must do so using a major credit card at time of booking.
No reservation may commence without full payment being cleared.

Cant say enough how much we enjoyed staying in the Oyster Catcher. The cottage was perfect from the beach themed decor to the extra little welcoming touches provided. We loved how the cottage came beach ready with paddle boards, kayaks, chairs, umbrellas, sifters, and everything imaginable for a beautiful day at the beach.
Again… can’t recommend the Shorebirds Cottages enough… and their incredible hosts!
The house is super clean & well stocked! It has everything you need and then some. The walk to the beach is easy & they provide you with a loaded beach cart with seriously everything you’d ever need. The kitchen had good quality tools and again everything you need and more. There were a lot of rules & threats if rules are broken. Which is fine it’s a nice place & that’s how you keep things nice. There are a lot of cameras everywhere, including one outside the outdoor shower which makes you feel like you’re being watched. Normally you’d think they were just for security but the wording of the rules makes you feel like they are watching you all the time. It was super quiet the first night and then a large party moved into the other units and it became a party. It kind of felt like we were crashing a party if we went outside. It’s an amazing spot for a big family to rent all 4 units though! Med. Marijuana users keep looking.. you have to leave the property completely.

Don’t pass this one by… unless it is at a time I want to rent again! :). Was just perfect. The extra touches made all the difference. And the a/c works great! Comfy beds, clean, awesome outdoor area and screened in porch and totally clean and equipped. Thank you so much for making our trip so enjoyable!

Oyster Catcher was just what the doctor ordered. My family and I were so impressed by this place. Everything was so clean and so nicely decorated. The outside area is well-kept and provides for a relaxing atmosphere. We especially liked the stocked kitchen, bikes, kayaks, and beach amenities. Another deciding factor for me was the laundry area; this allowed us to pack very lightly and keep our travel simple. Fabulous vacation! Thanks for thinking of EVERYTHING!
The house and amenities were great. The house was very clean amd smelled great. We loved the screened in porch and hung out there a lot while we were at the house. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. I really appreciated the coffee and wine. We made use of the beach toys, boogie boards, beach towels, and beach cart. The ocean was so close and easy to get to. We used the shell and bird guidebooks a lot and appreciated that they were there. We also loved the kayaks and were able to see dolphins up close. It was easy walk to the restaurants. We found many shark teeth and shells during our stay. We had a wonderful vacation and eould recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Our family had a delightful and memorable trip to Manasota Key thanks to Jen’s awesome beach home. We were able to walk to the beach in minutes upon arrival. Our kids were able to begin finding sharks’ teeth immediately! The sunsets were incredible! We loved going to Stump’s Pass. All of the local recommendations were spot on and everything we wanted within the house was available and easy to find.

We stayed at the Oystercatcher cottage and it was beautiful, even better in person. It had everything that we needed such as toiletries, dish washing detergent, paper-towels, enough toilet paper etc. One of the best Airbnb's places that we've ever stayed at. It was spacious enough for 4 people with nice sun room areas for sitting and relaxing. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a great basket of snacks, beers in the fridge, in all such a pleasant experience, we absolutely recommend it to everyone. Thanks for a lovely time!!
Such a sweet cottage. We felt so at home. Quick walk to beach. GREAT amenities. Especially loved sitting by the fire at night! Jen and Eddie were great to work with and so friendly. Hope to book a trip back here very soon!
Can’t say enough good things about the host / owners and the home! Truly an amazing experience just a short couple minute walk to the beach. Everything you could imagine was provided including kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Eddie and Jen have thought of everything and you can tell they truly care about helping to make your stay memorable! Eddie even helped us load the kayaks and paddle-boards on wheels so our kids could enjoy the bay too! I would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back again. Such a treasure of a place to stay and such nice owners to meet!
We had such a wonderful time at Jen's Manasota Key rental. The location is perfect and there were so many thoughtful accommodations including anything you would need or want at the beach!
We had the best girls/mom trip! Beautiful place just a short walk from the beach with all the beach amenities at your fingertips! Everything was amazingly clean and beautiful! Can’t wait to go back!
We enjoyed a long weekend girls trip here! It did feel a little bit smaller than what we anticipated, but the big porch area is great for hanging out. We took advantage of the bikes a few times. It’s close enough to everything but just far enough away from the party to make it super relaxing.

Our stay at Shore Birds was fantastic. We were able to get away from the craziness of life and slow down for a few days. We even commented that time moved slower during our time at that cottage. I chose Shore Birds because of the additional amenities that were included with our stay, kayaks, bikes, beach towels, chairs and more. We were even greeted with a bottle of wine and cold beer. Highly recommend and will stay here again.
